About the Awardee:

Subhasree Bhaskar is a Doctoral Candidate at Chemmat. Subhasree obtained her BTech in Pharmaceutical Engineering (West Bengal University of Technology, India, 2013) and MEng in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering (Hanseo University, South Korea, 2016). She has published 14 journal articles in the field of material science and engineering.

Subhasree’s PhD project is about developing a novel heterogeneous metal catalyst for hydrothermal processing of organic waste. This multidisciplinary PhD project brings closer together theory, concepts and methods derived from chemical reaction engineering and materials engineering. Subhasree is supervised by Chemmat’s Drs Saeid Baroutian, Steve Matthews and Associate Professor Mark Jones.

 

About the Award:

The AUEA Braithwaite-Thompson Graduate Research Awards is a prestigious Award for innovative graduate research in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Auckland. The Awards are funded by Ray and Joan Thompson and intended to assist international postgraduate students and to foster international relationships.
