A group of 30 11th and 12th grade students and their teachers were hosted by Chemat on 18th October, 2023.
Chemical & Materials Engineering Department hosts Tamaki College Secondary School
Chemmat hosted a group of 30 high school students (Year 11 and 12) and teachers from Tamaki College Secondary School on the 18th of October. The half day event started by giving the students a flavour of our MDLS teaching laboratory. This was followed by a short introduction on Chemical and Materials Engineering by Prof. Ashvin Thambyah. The students also had a glimpse of the industry from a guest lecture by Penny Dray from BECA. Introducing our cutting-edge research activities, the students toured Chemmat’s research laboratories. It was a very inspiring day for the students, and there was very engaging interaction with our staff members and students. We certainly hope to meet this group of students again soon, not as visitors but as students of the department.
