Each year the department ‘facilitates’ a mixer, organised by the Year Three students, that brings both staff and students of the department for an evening of casual mixing. The aim of this annual event is to foster a sense of collegiality and camaraderie amongst all members of the department, and that means both staff and students.This year, besides the student class representatives driving the organisation of the mixer, we also engaged the fabulous Chemical and Materials Engineering Students’ Association. CMESA consists of an outstanding group of students that are passionate to make the most of their undergraduate experience, and more importantly, have unselfishly worked hard to create fantastic student-centered activities, enriching the experience of uni life for their chemmat classmates.
