On 7th March 2019, the department held a seminar where invited academic Dr Seyed Soheil Mansouri, from the Technical University of Denmark, gave a talk on his work Towards Development of Virtual Bioprocess Plants
Dr. Seyed Soheil Mansouri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) with focus on developing systematic methods and tools for synthesis, design, intensification and analysis of more sustainable chemical, biochemical and bio-pharmaceutical processes. His current research is primarily focused on developing systematic methods and tools for synthesis, design, control/optimization and analysis of downstream chemical and bio-pharmaceutical processes and resource recovery opportunities towards achieving zero-waste and circular economy.
Three of our department academics, Prof Brent Young, Dr Saeid Baroutian and Dr Wei Yu, are currently establishing a close research, and teaching, collaboration with DTU through Dr Mansouri and other DTU academics.
